Apart from a new grille pattern and the adoption or front disc brakes as standard equipment, the Mercurys do not change much: Montereys still look like big Fords, while Marquis are small Lincolns. Among new options can be found the Sure-Track anti-lock brake system introduced in the Lincoln Continental Mark III and the Ford Thunderbird.
