1953 Mercury Full-Sizes

Mercurys for 1953 retain the nice design that has been adopted last year, only slightly altered. These cars having become heavier, some new power options are welcome during the year.

Mercury's 1953 range includes two lines: Mercury Custom, Mercury Monterey.

Mercury Custom
For 1953, the Mercury Custom sees its side decoration being modified, while the front bumper-grille combination receives two aggressively-penned, bullet-shaped bumper guards, often called “dagmars”, as American style now seems to impose on all cars built in Detroit. Power steering and power brakes are two valuable new options on all Mercurys this year.
