1958 Lincoln Full-Sizes

Those who found the 1957 Lincoln heavy-looking certainly would not like the look of the brand new 1958 cars. Lincoln’s designers have used all possible tricks to make their cars longer, wider and lower as possible. Quad headlights are retained, though the arrangement is not slanted. Engine is larger than ever in order to compensate for the whopping weight. Still, their most important characteristic is invisible: Lincoln has switched from a separate chassis to a unibody construction - or rather “Uniframe”, in Lincoln’s parlance. The Continental is now a variant of the Lincoln, though its manufacturer continues to promote it as if it were a separate brand.
