1964 Mercury Full-Sizes

Nineteen sixty-four sees the return of the traditional line-up: Monterey, Montclair and Park Lane models are all here to celebrate Mercury’s 25th anniversary. Though these cars are still based on the ones launched for model year 1961, they have slowly departed from the traditional Ford design to more and more resemble Lincoln’s Continental - this year, they receive a face-lift that includes a convex grille, replacing the older concave one, that is flanked by two aggressively designed front wings. Though the strangely-shaped Breezeway is back, the very elegant Marauder fastback body style is now extended to four-door hardtop sedans.

Mercury's 1964 range includes four lines: Mercury Monterey, Mercury Montclair, Mercury Park Lane and a line of station wagons that includes the Mercury Commuter and the Mercury Colony Park.

Mercury Monterey
The Monterey name is once again used for the more accessible full-size Mercury. A convertible returns to this line for 1964.
