1967 Mercury Full-Sizes

Once again the grille of the Mercury full-sizes is revised, with a central protruding part now dividing the front in two halves. The turn signals are moves again from the front wings to the bumper. The S-55 disappears as a separate series, but remains as an optional performance package, offered on both the two-door hardtop coupe and convertible versions of the Monterey, which includes the “428” 7.0-litre engine. On the other hand, two new series are added at the top of the range: the two-door Marquis and the four-door Brougham.

Mercury Monterey
The style of the Monterey is angular, and clearly related to the Lincoln Continental. The Monterey’s range includes five models. Among them the Breezeway no longer features its original silhouette with inverted slant rear window; it is now similar in appearance to the plain sedan, but with a retractable rear window for better ventilation of the passenger compartment.
