A brand new Continental “Mark” is unveiled this year. It sits on a longer chassis, but retains all of the styling gimmicks of the previous generation - hidden headlights, upright front grille with standing emblem, boot spare tyre “hump”.

● Introduction: September 1971. Construction: body on separate chassis. Engine: water-cooled V-8, 7.5-litre, 212 hp, mounted at the front. Transmission: to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic gearbox. Suspension: independent at the front, rigid axle at the rear. Brakes: hydraulic, to discs on front wheels, drums on rear wheels, with servo. Length: 559 cm. Top speed: 195 kph. Range: two-door hardtop coupe.
