1977 Lincoln Continental Mark V

This is a remarkable feat the Lincoln engineers have performed, redesigning the Continental Mark as a much lighter, yet equally large model as its predecessors, from which it retains all the traditional trademarks. Base engine is now down to the “400” V-8.

● Introduction: October 1976. Construction: body on separate chassis. Engine: water-cooled V-8, 6.6-litre, 179 hp, mounted at the front. Optional engine: V-8, 7.5-litre, 208 hp. Transmission: to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic gearbox. Suspension: independent at the front, rigid axle at the rear. Brakes: hydraulic, to discs on all four wheels, with servo. Length: 585 cm. Top speed: 180 to 190 kph. Range: two-door hardtop coupe.
