Biggest news at Alpheon is the availability of the e-Assist system on cars equipped with the 2.4-litre four. CL240 and EL240 e-Assist models are hybrid cars fitted with an auxiliary 17.6kW electric motor automatically taking over from the conventional engine at low speeds. This allows for substantial fuel economy and less impact on the environment.
Alpheon CL240 and CL300
The Alpheon is based on the Buick LaCrosse from model year 2010. This means, rather oddly, that it is powered by the 3.0-litre V-6 that has now been discontinued in the US, or by a 2.4-litre four.

Though the CL240/300 receive a very generous equipment as standard, GM’s intentions are to make the Alpheon a very luxurious automobile and, therefore, an even more posh version is proposed as the EL300 Supreme. A 2.4-litre four, with or without e-Assist system, is also available with this car.
